Furry

Otters are very furry (the sea otter is actually the most furry animal on earth), which makes them look soft which is nice.

Long

They are categorically a long animal, which is a good thing.

Whiskers

I like their whiskers.

Paws

Paws very a bit between species, but are always webbed for swimmming. The Small-Clawed Asian Otter has small claws (and is an otter that is asian in some way), which means their claws are a lot like our nails. They are also quite dexterous, and used for holding things.

Also, despite relying on swimming for their entire adult lives, they are not born with the ability to do so (even baby Sea Otters, but at least they float). Baby otters will be brought into water by their parents, forcing them to swim, which makes them very grumpy.
